мне сильно показалось , что на 12 S, 225 об это уж сильно слишком

Что касается заправки тут Игорь Губанов прав на все 100. Нужен мощный зарядник на 500W чтобы заряжать пару батарей, при этом заряжать будете часа полтора

I just wanted to share the result of my newest project
- original EF wings and canopy
- custom built fuselage and cowl
- 6s 6000mAh LiPo
- 550kv 300g outrunner + 15x8 Xoar prop
- 2850g flying weight, 10-15 minutes flight time 😛 (average consumption 300mAh/minute when flying mixed style 3D+pattern)
I love my Laser even more now 😁

Thank you a lot for sharing your experience and setup info. Obviously 5s 5ah pack isn`t heavier than any 6s with sufficient capacity and discharge rate with its 610-620g weight. For me it is important to know that AUW 2800-2900g will work on this airframe. I guess my plane will be even lighter since you are using standard servos for tail.
Denis, how do you feel hs225? They are analog type with much less centering and overall precision perfomance compared to digital ones.

on my 3dh 57" Extra and 55" Edge I used hs225 on all surfaces and was happy with them, on my laser only on the ailerons.
I´m just an average pilot and can not handle the insane roll rates Jase Dussia shows in his videos, so on the laser ailerons I have only approx 30° deflection and I do not use long servo arms so the centring of the hs225 is fine for me.
A hs225 on elevator is definely too weak if you want 60° or more deflection, the laser has the biggest elevator I´ve seen on a 60" plane.
Well, if you can afford high quality digital servos, use them. I had the hs225 laying around, so I used them.
You definitely don´t need to worry about weight, 2800-2900g is absolutely OK for that plane, in fact my 2850g Laser is almost as floaty as my 57" Extra, this is of course how I feel about it, a subjective impression.

I´m really happy that you finally discovered that plane in this forum! I own a 60" Laser since last year and I´m in love with this airframe!! My Laser weights exactly 2850g and in the air it feels like my 3dh 57" Extra that weights 2300g.
I use a 300g 500kv motor and a gensace 6s 4000mAh pack (one pack weighs 630g), 6s 3300mAh might be nice as well, but personally I would not use 2700mAh packs …unless you like flight times under 4 minutes.
For the servos. I use savöx sc1251 on elevator and rudder (no blowback for sure), and hitec 225mg on ailerons, hs225 for elevator and rudder is too weak IMHO because of the huge control surfaces.
…for the folks who thinks that 5s 5000mAh is too heavy for the laser, we have one guy on the german forums who uses a hacker A50-16s and 6s 4500mAh batteries, his Laser is even heavier than my plane, he is very happy with this setup, no negative flight characteristics …

the prop from Alex Golg link is not for electric motors, that´s right
but jxf produces a wide range of propellers, among them are the ones that are designed for electric engine, and these props are the same like xoar
please check the pics and compare the outlines

I recently joined the russian speaking 58" edge community
my 58" ежик arrived last week 😃
I have to say that I was really dissappointed as I opened the box, there is almost no difference to my 3dh 55" edge 😦
yes, there are minor structural changes and little bit more wingspan, but generally it is still a 55" edge, they didn´t change anything on the aerodynamics, so I expect it will fly just like my old 55" ежик.
Personally, I like the 55 edge more than my 57 extra, the edge is more agile and I really don´t think it is a гавнюк 😁😁😁
But I really hated that the edge rolls out of KE flight, you have to mix it out if you want a straight KE, I hoped 3dh would change some things in order to make the new edge performing KE without mixing, but nothing happened 😦
well, we will see when it is assembled
